During the Final Exam period at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College (December 8th – 18th), the GCSU Backlot will be operating on a reduced schedule. The following are the hours of operation for the GCSU Backlot during this time:
Monday – Wednesday 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Thursday 12:00pm – 1:00am
Friday 12:00pm – 4:00pm
The GCSU Backlot will also be closed on Monday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 8th. We appologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
On behalf of the staff of the GCSU Backlot, and the executive, councillors and staff of the Grenfell College Student Union, we would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday season. 2009 has been a very successful year for the GCSU Backlot, and this would not happen without the support of the Grenfell College community.
2010 is also shaping up to be another banner year. The GCSU Backlot will be home to some of the biggest pop culture events of the year, including Super Bowl XLIV, Wrestlemania XXVI, and the XXI Olympic Games from Vancouver. We will also be home to some of the greatest live entertainment in Atlantic Canada, including shows by the Tom Fun Orchestra and the The Funk Show, as well as the 6th Annual Unplugged for Cancer in March. The GCSU Backlot presents The Turbo Powered Funk Show, Friday, January 8th, 2010. The Funk Show bring with them a high-energy show that is unmatched by others. This will be the first show back from the Christmas holidays, and promises to be one for the ages! Doors open at 8:30pm, show starts at 10:30pm. Cover $6, with amazing drink specials, as always. ID for 19 required.
Live @ The GCSU Backlot: Tom Fun Orchestra. With special guests Sherman Downey and the Ambiguous Case. Friday, January 22nd, 2010. Doors open at 8:30pm, starting around 10:00pm. Tickets are $12.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door, and will go on sale at a date TBD.
Arrangements are also being made for a dry event. Details on this to be released in the near future
